Tieto is extending its collaboration with Skellefteå municipality through a new deal for the delivery of an operational system for social services that will simplify everyday tasks for employees and help the municipality offer better e-services to citizens.
The system is based on Tieto Lifecare and will support the management of processes within healthcare, social care and family care.
The contract is worth around SEK 20 million and runs over six years, with three optional periods of three years each.
Lifecare is replacing Skellefteå’ s previous system from Tieto, Procapita, and will give the municipality access to more efficient process support, a simpler user interface and new functionalities for offering citizens more value-adding e-services.
”Our goal with this system is to enable more digital services and make full use of today’s welfare technology, while also supporting our staff’s mobile work. For citizens, this will lead to better services and more access to our staff,” says Anna Kristiansson, project leader at Skellefteå municipality.
Skellefteå municipality has a long relationship with Tieto and chose to renew the collaboration after a thorough review process where Lifecare received the best score of all systems in the municipality’s assessment.
”We asked all providers to show us a solution for how different cases can be managed, from the time it comes in through the follow-up, and Tieto showed they could best meet our needs and requirements. We were also looking for a system that is fully compliant, simplifies the processes for our end users and makes our operations more efficient,” says Annica Arnqvist, system administrator at Skellefteå municipality.
Lifecare is used by about 170 municipalities in Sweden to create better coordination within the healthcare and social care sectors and improve communication between patients and other actors.
”Skellefteå has been an important client for us for many years, so we are thrilled that they have given us renewed confidence. Skellefteå has always been at the forefront of digitalisation and creating smart services for citizens, and Lifecare ensures that it can continue to make full use of the possibilities that digitalisation offers, says Johan Höglund, Vice President, Healthcare and Welfare, Tieto.
